Sometimes all I find is a broken part of a vintage piece. This was all that was left from a 1940s Emmons necklace. I repurposed it into a Pendant Necklace and matching Dangle Earrings.
Long, Beaded Necklaces became popular in the late 1950s through the 1960s. Here is one that I repurposed into 4 different, more modern Bracelets.
LISNER is a name well-known in the jewelry industry. At the height of its popularity in the late 1940s and 1950s, the company produced significant costume jewelry pieces adorned with Austrian crystals. This find was not only missing the other section of the chain but a number of the large and small blue crystals as well. Using what was available, I knew I could get four full sections if I harvested crystals from two pieces to fill in the missing ones in the other four. I could not make a full bracelet, but with the partial chain, I could get enough material to add to two of the sections, and make matching earrings out of the other two sections. Thus a “new” repurposed Lisner set for the 21st century was born.
A classic late 1950s “long chain necklace” that has out-lived its style. However, the segments with the caged Pearls and flattened gold discs are very pretty, and what a lovely bracelet they have become.
This beauty was fashioned out of an old, 1960s large link bracelet and a broken (no pin back) brooch. Voila! A brand new contemporary Lioness bracelet perfect for my client whose Astrological sign is Leo. THIS WAS A CUSTOM PIECE.
